*In 1864, James Clarke stole cash and a 10-pound brick of gold from a mint in the USA He tried to escape horseback, but the horse ran away. After getting only a few miles away he found his loot too heavy to carry and threw the 10-pound gold brick away! (He eventually caught  and ordered to leave the territory. * Calvin Coolidge was the first American president to be featured on a coin while still alive! *The earliest recorded coin collection belonged to Augustus Caesar, the first emperor of Rome

IT'S ALL GREEK

*Ancient Greek ships had an "all-seeing eye" painted on the " front of them. The sailors believed the magic eye would guide them safely home to port. Car. *In Greek mythology Pan was half-goat, half-man; Triton was half-man, half-fish and centaur was half-horse, half-man. *Greek philosopher Pythagoras believed that beans had souls, and told his students never to eat beans! Only rich people in ancient Greece went to war in armour and riding on horses.

Do you know how many computers are connected to you while you are surfing the World Wide Web or chatting with your online friends? Even though you are directly in touch with just your computer, a surprisingly large number of computers are connected to you! In fact, it is this large network of interconnected computers that enables you to suf the web or communicate with your friends. Collectively. this large global group of interconnected computer networks is called the Internet. The Intemnet is a global network of milions of computers (and the data stored on them) connected together by telephone lines, cables or satellites Over which they can exchange information. Just as the postal service enables us to send one another envelopes Containing messages, the Internet enables computers to send each other small packets of digital data. The Internet is used for a variety of reasons such as to access information, book railway tickets, shop, listen to music, watch movies, play games...

BASIC FIRST AID

Every year many accidents occur. With some care, they can be prevented. In case an accident does happen you can be of help if you know Basic First Aid. Read each of the following carefully. you will be able to give vital first aid if needed. Remember always to seek help from an adult IMMEDIATELY. Do not move the casualty unnecessarily. Keep him warm. Make a diagnosis, decide the treatment and treat, Remember the ABC of First Aid: See if his airways are clear, that he is breathing, and his blood circulation is patient, 1. RESPIRATION If it is failing, give artificial respiration - MOUTH to MOUTH or MOUTH to NOSE. 2.BLEEDING Arrest the bleeding and protect the wound. Apply direct or indirect pressure. Cover with a dressing, apply a pad and firm bandage. Elevate the wounded part above the level of heart to STOP BLEEDING. 3. FRACTURES IMMOBILISE the fractured part with a well padded stiff support reaching the joints on either side. Apply bandages...
