what is microprocessor ??
what a microprocessor is?
A microprocessor is a processor within which a CPU's functions are performed. It is the
basic element in all digital devices, and consists of a single integrated circuit or a group of
integrated circuits. Usually associated with the computer, microprocessors are also found
in smartphones, DVD players, and refrigerators, among other appliances.
In functional terms, the microprocessor controls what the computer does. It starts operat-
ing when the computer is switched on, and depends on digital input to begin simple mathe-
matical operations like addition and subtraction before proceeding to diverse operations.
A microprocessor also transports data from one memory spot to another.
The first commercial microprocessor used a 4-bit CPU.The 32- and 64-bit microproces-
sors of today have fuelled development in fields as wide-ranging as weather prediction,
medicine, and automobiles, because higher bit numbers mean faster processing of complex
tasks.Video editing, gaming, and image editing are some the tasks aided by 64-bit micropro-
cessors. Checking e-mail or typing into a notepad do not exert the microprocessor as
much.
lsn't it amazing that a small, square-shaped chip is reinventing technology and, as ả result,
modern life itself ?
Let's see how quickly you can process these two images -
and spot 4 differences between them!
You have 30 seconds to complete the exercise!
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Differences:
1.Computer screen not slanting
2.One leg of the revolving chair removed
3.A hat added on the person's head
4.Vertical line from chair to base removed.
